Today we began our new schedule. There were some minor changes, such as library on Monday and gym in the afternoon. The kids did a great job of adjusting. We practiced numbers to ten and created some compound words (catfish, starfish, blackberry, etc). We also visited the library and gym today. Have a great day!
Today we listened to a reader's theater group from first grade read "Country Mouse, City Mouse". We also practiced writing numbers to ten. We discussed and journaled about what we are thankful for and visited the music room. We will have library tomorrow. Remember, fundraiser items are available for pickup today after school. Have a great day!
Today we practiced reading our new take home book "We Go". The kids did a great job of reading their new words (go, up, down). We also reviewed numbers in math and told turkey stories with our reader pals. The kids visited the music room and the gym today. Have a great weekend!
Today we worked on letter writing, counting, and journaling. The kids are learning that in kindergarten, they do not need to spell like the dictionary. They just do their best to sound out a word. I will not correct them. I always have them read their journal to me, rather than reading it myself. I explain that it is sometimes hard for grownups to read kindergarten writing. They are doing well with this! Have a great day!
Today we worked on rhyming, numbers to ten, and journaling. We visited the gym and music rooms today. This afternoon, we were able to view the book fair. The children enjoyed looking at the books and created a 'Wish List', which will be available to you during the book fair hours. They worked very hard today! Have a great, sunny, day!
Today we practiced rhyming and the numbers 8 and 9. We also practiced counting the letters in words and finding the longer words in a group. We visited the library, gym, and computer lab today. Have a great day!
Today we practiced rhyming. The children will bring home a packet of rhyming pages we completed as a group. We also started a new chapter in math about numbers 6 thru 10, and we completed centers. The children visited music and the gym today. We had an interesting conversation about past technology and how life has changed over the last 100 years. Have a good day!
Today we learned three new quick words (this, it, no) and practiced writing numbers. We also visited the music room and the gym. Our reader pals stopped by and we also completed centers. Have a great weekend!
Today we finished our letter packets with letter Z! The kids were rewarded for their hard work with a magnet for home. We also practiced writing number 2 and 3. We visited the music room and the gym today. Thanks to all of our soldiers and veterans!
Today we worked on numbers 0-5 and practiced the words 'big', 'have', and 'small'. We also practiced using periods and question marks at the end of a sentence. We met with reader pals and made some fun scarecrows to decorate the halls with. Have a safe and healthy weekend!
Hello! After being gone for two days, I returned to a class that had done well for the substitute teachers. The kids have been working on their numbers to 5, decorating the room for harvest, and practicing letters Uu thru Ww. I will unfortunately be gone again tomorrow. The children will be working on letter X, counting, numbers to 5, and coloring for harvest. They will also visit the computer lab. I will finish the quarter testing on Friday and prepare everything for conferences as well. Information about report cards and conferences will be sent home soon. I will be back on Friday and hopefully my family will be healthy and rearing to go!
