A Sunny Sunny Day

The kids practiced writing their letters this morning, namely Hh, and
completed their first assessment worksheets. Today, we completed them as
a group just so the children could see what they were like and how the
directions worked. Next month, they will complete them as if they were
tests. This afternoon, the kids will be completing math practice and
creating Fall trees with different colored paper. Have a great day!

I love Fall!

The kids are doing a great job of writing their names and finishing
their work on time. We practiced these things this morning, as well as
wrote the letter Ff and completed a few pages from our reading
workbooks. The kids visited the gym and music rooms, and will now work
on making our first class book. The children will be able to read this
book whenever they have down time. It is called "Apples on Top" and it
correlates with the Dr. Seuss book with the same name. This afternoon,
the kids will read a Fall book, sort leaves by color, and practice more
math concepts about location words. We are really practicing right/left
hands. Have a great day!

The children worked with a sub this morning while I finished testing. I

afternoon, we will be starting a unit about apples. We will use apples
to discuss the sense of taste, how to graph, and read several apple
stories. We will also start a math unit about location words (above,

It's Friday...Already?!

The kids did a fabulous job this morning with their routine. We
discussed rhyming words, the alphabet, and read a story about saying
sorry. They are currently in gym and library. Feel free to send your
child's library book back to school anytime next week. This afternoon,
the kids will read story and visit with their reader pals. During this
time, the kids will be practicing shape names. We will then work on some
more testing and have snack/playtime. Have a fabulous weekend!

The children have really settled into a routine and did a great job
today. We discussed shapes, colors, and writing letters. I have shown
the kids that when they make a letter, they do not start at the bottom
of the page, but the top or the middle. We also read Brown Bear by Eric
Carle and decorated our own story pictures. Have a great day!

Back to School...

Hello:)
The kids did a great job of jumping back into a routine today. They
took care of their morning jobs (hanging their coats, putting away their
folders, working at their tables) and listened to directions. We sorted
nouns today (person, place, animal, object) and drew self portraits. I
have also started testing the children on colors. We had gym and music
today as well. Have a great evening!

routines we learned yesterday. We discussed above the line behaviors
such as listening at group and being quiet in the hallway. We also read
several stories about making friends and going to school. This

kindergarten. I can't believe it is already Friday tomorrow! Have a

A great first day!

The children did a great job of working through a long and busy day.
They were good listeners, hard workers, and willing to adjust the
schedule when needed. Today, we started with introductions and some
activities on the Smartboard. We then attended gym and music. After
recess and lunch, we discussed Above the Line behaviors, bus safety, and
had our snack and playtime. I am looking forward to another great day
tomorrow!

Conference Day!

Hello families:)
Thanks to all who were able to attend a conference in some shape or
form. I was able to meet with everyone in person or over the phone over
the last week. I really appreciate the support you are giving your
children and I promise to do my best to help both you and your child
have a great year.
I will try to post each day as to what your child did in school. If I
am gone or forget, apologize in advance!
I look forward to posting tomorrow after a busy but fun first day:)
