Today we practiced writing our alphabet and talked about the fractions
half and one-fourth. We also practiced for the program at the high
school and visited the gym. Children can report to their room (A6) at
the high school between 6:30 and 6:45 this evening. If you do not know
where that room is, student helpers will be around the school wearing
Santa hats and they can direct you to the classroom. You will also pick
the children up from this room when the concert is over. Tomorrow, we
will have a morning of hard work and an afternoon of fun. This will be
my last blog for 2009. Have a wonderful break and I will talk with you
again in 2010!

gym and music room. Tomorrow, we will be taking a bus to the high school
for music practice. The program is coming together nicely and I am sure
you will be entertained on Thursday night!

Today we worked on letter writing, counting, and journaling. The kids
are learning that in kindergarten, they do not need to spell like the
dictionary. They just do their best to sound out a word. I will not
correct them. I always have them read their journal to me, rather than
reading it myself. I explain that it is sometimes hard for grownups to
read kindergarten writing. They are doing well with this! Have a great

2, 5, and 10. We read 100 day stories and made 100 day glasses. We also
visited the computer lab and colored 100 day pictures. The kids had 100

Hello again!

I didn't Blog yesterday because I was gone, however I am back and on the
ball today! I understand that many children had a bit of a rough day
yesterday, so we discussed staying "Above the Line" with all teachers
and not just myself. I guess there was some teasing, throwing of toys,
and disrespectful words said. They did a much better job today and we
got a lot of work done. We read our new take home book, counted in math,
and made Valentine Bees to decorate our school. We also discussed our
country and its' symbols, namely the flag, Bald Eagle, and Statue of
Liberty. I can't believe tomorrow is already Friday!

Tuesday, February 3, 2009

Hello!

Today we worked on sounding out words. We also discussed even and odd

itself. We visited the library but only 1/2 of the class had their books
today. Tomorrow, we will begin our Valentine projects. Have a great
day!
