Today the kids worked on sounding out words, identification of money, and discussed the different parts of plants. It sounds like the kids did a very good job for the sub yesterday, so I was very proud of them!
Today we worked on sounding out words and read a story call "Math Fables". We also practiced identifying coins, namely penny, and visited the computer lab. We also began a formal unit on plants and discussed what is living and nonliving in our classroom. Library is tomorrow!
What a gorgeous day! Today the kids had a lot of energy, but we still managed to get some stuff done. We sounded out words (frog, car, dog, etc). We also added and subtracted. We read a new take home book called "Fix It" and also decorated the room for Earth day. We had a lock down practice and a tornado drill today as well. Enjoy the beautiful weather!
The kids did a very good job of listening today. It sounds as though the day went good yesterday as well. We worked on sounding out words, adding, and visited the library. We also discussed Earth Day and how we can help our planet. We also had a discussion on appropriate language for school. I was told of an instance today of inappropriate words. Please reiterate with your child that my ears are always open when something hurts them or their feelings. We want all children to feel safe and secure in school!
I am not in school today because I am home with a sick little girl. The kids will be sounding out words, adding, and visiting the computer lab. They will also be discussing Earth Day this afternoon. I will be back in school tomorrow. Have a good one!
The kids were little troopers today! We had a schedule change-gym was first thing in the morning. Thus, the kids had a very short morning and a very long afternoon. We practiced letter 'w' and read a new take home book called "Liz Wins". We also finished our subtraction math book. We will continue to practice adding and subtracting next week. We also planted our grass, flower, and vegetable seeds today. The kids were great about cleaning up. Remember, there is no school for kindergarten tomorrow due to roundup. Have a great weekend!
Today, we worked on sounding out words and subtracting. We also talked about the /z/ sound and played a zoo game online. We visited the computer lab and started to get things ready for planting grass seed tomorrow. Have a great day in the lovely weather!
Today we worked on subtracting, sounding out words, and even had a little discussion about the pronouns 'I' and 'you'. We also decorated Easter cards and graphed jelly beans. We were fortunate enough to have the Easter bunny pay us a visit. Have a wonderful vacation and talk to you again on Tuesday!
We had a good day of sounding out words, subtracting pennies, and decorating for Easter. We also completed a sounds assessment (which will be in your child's folder). They did a fabulous job finding beginning and ending sounds. Tomorrow is our last day of school for the week!
Hello families! Today we worked on sounding out words and subtracting numbers less than ten. We also decorated for Easter and visited the computer lab. I hope to see more families at conferences tonight. Also, remember we have a short week for Spring break!
The kids were on the ball today! We finished our spelling test, several pages in our math books, and some reading assessments. They are all doing great and online to the end of the year. We also met with our reader pals and decorated our Easter treat bags. Have a great weekend and remember that next week is a three day week!
The kids did a good job of working today despite the white distraction out our window! We sounded out words, subtracted during math, and made bunny puppets. We also had the opportunity to visit the book fair this morning.
